A monograph of Michael Fram’s work talks of his paintings, “…revolving around the theme of the family and the interactions of people. Michael Fram’s pictures often tend toward a calm, personal view; a warm and gentle vision of family life, the characters around us; and, sometimes a comical picture depicting invented characters and scenes of a world which could almost be out own.”

His representational landscapes are those of a keen eyed artist able to perceive, orchestrate, and render a scene’s light, color, space, and mood. Fram readily spans the divide between, and the substance of, both the abstract and representational. It might be said that he paints with imagination brushing against reality.
